Age does not diminish the extreme disappointment of having a scoop of ice cream fall from the cone.
Jim Fiebig
Once upon a time I was old… (when I was seven or eight). I had a plan to change the world and then it teeter-tottered with me like a fall from the monkey bars. Now it’s all gone. Looking back at journals, I can’t remember when the secrets were lost. The ball-kicks and ropes jumps were insurmountably important and perfected. Friends were friends and enemies were enemies. I could speak with cats and stones, and we could all read music and bones. We were all married, unmarried to the world. We were all truthful liars. We were sincerely fake because our fakeness was pretending not believing. And then I became young and reckless.
It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend. William Blake
It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad.
C. S. Lewis
Summer is upon us! We know that this means that everything is winding down. School is ending, all our favorite shows are ending till next season. What will we do with all of this extra time? Here are some great things that we can with all our extra time, instead of being on Facebook:
- Read a book: Pick a good book and take time to read it and enjoy. Maybe read a book a month.
- Enjoy Nature: Go to the beach. Check out the mountains. Go on a nature walk. Enjoy God’s creation
- Spend time with loved ones: Get to know your friends and your family better.
- Learn how to do something new: Find something that you are interested in doing and do it. Take time to learn a new hobby or get better at an old one.

Christians are supposed not merely to endure change, nor even to profit by it, but to cause it. Harry Emerson Fosdick
Maybe it’s bitterness from my own experiences with braces but this trend is borderline obscene.
It’s like the people who have perfect eyesight yet insist on wearing $500 Dolce and Gabanna frames with plexiglass in them. If you ever really needed braces and spend hours picking pancakes out of the wires in the morning, you would not think this was cute. What is it with already-perfect people adding fake imperfections just to show off to us dorks how perfect they really are? Next stop faux-pimples.
Do you think fake glasses and braces are silly?
I know there are a ridiculous amount of cute and uncute children on the internet. Placed by hopeful parents or cruel guardians fabricating future blackmail…. you decide.
who wins?
