I had pretty strong opinions about this when I was in highschool. I would post cheeky little tidbits on xanga that mothers from my school would (much to my chagrin) talk with me in person about. Some of them were concerned about my music tastes or hobbies. Some I think were secretly annoyed that my page was a dead-end (meaning: I posted no dirt about their child).

This will probably be an oft revisited discussion topic for us. Parents, facebook and the repercussions of our worlds mixing.
Everything was so much easier before.

Can you find Bible verses that support these ideas?
I read an interesting column about human reluctance to preserve the planet. There are so many things that can be recycled, even old gadgets and appliances.
It’s a relavent topic and now that captain planet isn’t around to help us fight pollution someone else needs to take up the torch. The little Viking that lives in my finger yells, “not it”.
Any volunteers?
I would think. I would think that Christians would support being good stewards of the planet.
Am I wrong in this assumption?
I believe my original dream house involved an a-frame on the beach. I liked a-frames since I was a child because I had a playhouse of that structure. (nesting: http://www.lovelylisting.com/)
At this time, an obsession with listening to tapes, lighting candles and painting on anything from industrial to flimsy. It was a whimsical horrorland with butterfly mobiles dangling from the low ceiling and animal skulls and shells filling the miniature playhouse drawers.
Why do I post these things? Because they make me smile.
“Happiness is like a butterfly: the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder.” Henry David Thoreau
True, I have lain in the grass beside Walden Pond once or twice. I also live in the real world working with real people and see that truly, the pursuit of happiness is not a right.
(Mainly because the means of obtaining happiness isn’t universal. If shooting your dog makes me happy, I would still be hard pressed to find a court in the Us that would tell me it’s my right.)
That said, happiness and the pursuing thereof is a fixation of our society.
Happiness, not joy.
Surely joy is the superior of the two emotions both intellectually and emotionally. But that means nothing to someone grasping at the spiderweb strands of life, love and good fortune. The problem and the solution are both answered in that survey-study that I linked. As a principle, those who make a conscious decision to be happy will attract happy people. Simply put, happy people breed happiness.
So my challenge to you would be: Since you have Joy (which is happiness despite circumstances) be noticeably happy as well.
Seriously, probably my biggest pet peeve (besides people who flush with the toilet lid up…. I keep my toothbrush in that room you sicko!) Is when someone leaves a note instead of actually telling me what they want? I can understand signs like “please do not flush sanitary napkins- management” or “no smoking”. I can even tolerate people labeling their food in community fridge’s…. Probably because I am too much of a germaphobe to poach lunches. But what I can’t handle is when people put up signs or notes deliberately intended for one specific person, instead of doing something, I don’t know, normal like saying, “ I would prefer if you….” or “please don’t….”
But at least this specific psychosis has a dedicated blog for all of us who know this just shouldn’t happen.
Some things are organic. Some things are funny. Some things are organic and funny.

I wish this was real.
I have developed an appreciation for facial hair over the years. In my tweens, I was disgusted by the concept. Possibly because all the celeb pretty boys. Justin timerberlake, heath ledger, brad pitt, jared leto… very clean, very pretty.
Ten years and all the pretties are scruffy.
